Today I finally returned from a month-long training mission in Norfolk, VA where I had the opportunity to concentrate on Pediatric Ophthalmology and do some great surgery. It was nice to get out of San Antonio for a while but no fun at all to be away from Alexandra & Bruno. The two of them did a great job of caring for each other and, while Alexandra is definitely the same size as when I left, Bruno is a completely different story - Sir Bruno now clocks in at an impressive 110 lbs and is not quite 9 months old yet :) His personality however is still just as sweet as when I left (although I admit, I'm a bit afraid of him when his enormous bark errupts!).
Alexandra has pampered me with my favorite foods, movies and a plethora of "welcome-home" signs. We had a fantastic day which started with me taking Bruno for a run in the park this morning, allowing Alexandra to sleep-in past 5 AM for the first time in a month. Bruno's favorite thing is to roll in wet grass which he indulged in at our field, pictured below. He also loves to play with sticks - you can see in the pictures that he found what is rather more like a small tree :)
After returning from our run in the park, Bruno indulges in his newest activity: eating acorns...don't ask, I have no idea why.
Hmmm....do these look appetizing? Bruno thinks so.

In the afternoon, the three of us went to Starbucks for a iced coffee (Pumpkin Spice...mmmm!). The thing is, when you go out with this dog people come up to you all the time: example - we ended up meeting some rather colorful characters who can best be described as (1) an artsy bohemian chain-smoker (fiance to manager of said Starbuck$ - could turn into free Pumpkin Spiced iced coffees), (2) an Air Force linguist specializing in Serbian and (3) an Alamo Heights snooty-pants! At least San Antonio isn't without entertainment :)

Finally we finished the day with a lovely walk as the sun was setting on Summerfield (our neighborhood)...

what a smashing photo :)
The photo's are just amazing! What a talent there is behind the lens. :)
Bruno is a very handsome guy and I am proud of him and grateful for his wonderful home. LOVE the stick picture. His sister 'Tricks' has actually been called 'Sticks' for many months here because of her love and obsession with sticks. We have a dog door here and have to remove sticks from the house daily. :)
I love your site!
Give my love to Bruno!
